A great year for Gab Valenciano
Posted: December 2009

Gab Valenciano is very thankful for a wonderful 2009. He is rapidly making a highly identifiable and powerful mark in the local entertainment industry as a sought-after record and music producer, musical arranger, dancer, choreographer, musician, product endorser, actor, and TV host.
Dubbed as Mr. “Pure Power,” Gab is rightfully recognized as a promising performing artist as he recently bagged the coveted Best New Male Artist award in the 22nd Aliw Awards. His groundbreaking and innovative arrangement and production of his father Gary Valenciano’s “Shout For Joy” earned him a well-deserved nomination in the prestigious Awit Awards for Best Dance Recording.. Gab also arranged and produced a track in Jericho Rosales’ recently released “Change” album under Star Records entitled “Naaalala Ka.”
In the live concert circuit, apart from exhibiting his unmatched terpsichorean and percussive skills, Gab greatly excelled as a noteworthy musical arranger as well. He has wisely invested his earnings in hardware and software to create his own mini recording studio at home. It should be noted that Gab created the musical arrangement of some of the most memorable production numbers of several successful concerts staged this year. In the recently concluded and historic “AS 1” concert of Martin Nievera and Gary Valenciano at MOA, Gab displayed his genius by giving a new and creative twist in the concert’s father–and-son number with Robin and Martin Nievera and Gary V featuring a medley of the hit dance tune “Nobody” and Black Eyed Peas’ party anthem “I Gotta Feeling.” Gab also arranged the powerful dance number “Sa Yahweh Ang Sayaw” in Gary V’s “Live At 25” concert. He also arranged several production numbers in Rachel Ann Go’s birthday concert at Music Museum and surprised everyone in the audience when he played the keyboards in one number in the concert. In the commercial arena, he arranged the production number of the Real Leaf launch for ASAP, the Michael Jackson medley for a Hyundai launch performed by his dad and the G-Force, as well as other dance medleys for Jollibee, Nestle, Ayala Land, and other corporate events. Recently, he was tapped among the young super achievers of today to be one of the select Powermac Icons in its roster of endorsers. He is a regular teacher at the Powermac Center for the latest software in music production.
As a dancer and choreographer, Gab is featured regularly on “ASAP ‘09” in its Supahdance segment. He also regularly choreographs several dance routines on “ASAP ’09.” Gab is also the first celebrity dance champion of ABC-5’s “Shall We Dance” and regularly invited to perform in Eat Bulaga in its explosive opening numbers. One of Gab’s most notable choreographed works is his dance sequence with Gary V in the TV commercial of Real Leaf which he also endorses with his dad. The memorable leap he executed in the dance sequence was a concept he presented to the director which the entire production team loved.
In film, Gab is the second lead of the indie film “Rebound” where he plays an exceptional basketball player. In real life, Gab is a serious sports buff with basketball as the sport of his choice. He was part of the “Wowowee” basket ball tournament in Araneta Coliseum. Gab’s impressive skills in basketball prompted a respected and major university to invite him to try-out for a slot in its men’s varsity basketball team.
A positive role model to the youth and his countless fans, Gab conducts regular dance workshops for the youth at Studio V and in various churches and schools. He openly admits that his studies is still a major priority and he is currently planning to finish school in the US.
In between TV shows and recordings, this talent of Manila Genesis Entertainment is busy touring the country with provincial shows and concerts. In 2010, expect more power-packed moves from Gab Valenciano as he unleashes more exciting projects such as a new album he is producing, a US Tour he is cooking up with some Genesis talents, a new endorsement, and being invited to be the main music arranger for the ASAP Supahdance Crew segment, among other things.
