BACKGROUND

RJ dela Fuente, a former banker in the US had the leading in his heart that gave him courage to pursue his true love—music. He auditioned before judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and JenniferLopez advancing through several rounds in“American Idol” Season 10 in 2011. As a balladeer and R&B singer joined the team of Lea Salonga inSeason 1 of “The Voice of the Philippines” in 2013.He also appeared as a guest in the shows ofSharon Cuneta, Martin Nievera, and BrianMcKnight. Locally, RJ is now being managed byManila Genesis Entertainment and Management,Inc.. He performed in the #Setlist and He Said,She Said series of shows. He was a six-time featured artist in Gary V Presents at Resorts WorldManila then Zamboanga in 2015, and again at theKia Theater in 2016.

RJ’s Grandmother Lerrie Pangilinan was an eight-time Tawag ng Tanghalan champion in the 1950s.He recounts Gary Valenciano as an uncle, Sharon Cuneta as aunt, and every one of note in this extended family. To date, he has also shared the stage with Marie Digby, Lea Salonga, Piolo Pascual, Kuh Ledesma, AJ Rafael, Cathy Nguyen, Jeremy "Passion" Manongdo, Gabe Bondoc, Andrew Carcia, Quest Crew, Mitoy Yonting and the Basco Brothers

In 2017 the pop-balladeer released his first single entitled “Maybe It’s Time” earning himself a nomination in 2018 for Awit Awards Best NewMale Recording Artist. RJ also performed in Pinoy Playlist 2018, a six-day OPM music festival curated by industry legends Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, NoelFerrer, and Moy Ortiz. He toured nationwide for the 2018 Awit at Laro mall tours and formed a project band with good friends Guji Lorenzana & Janjay Coquilla called TFTI. As a soloist he also released his first Filipino single “Maghihintay”.

2019 swept RJ into the limelight of ABS-CBN’s daytime singing competition, Tawag NgT Tanghalan (TNT), CELEBRITY edition, where well-known singers in the showbiz industry showcased their honed talent on national television. RJ’s noteworthy TNT performances included “Kahit Kailan, “Take Me Out of theDark”, “How Am I Supposed to Live WithoutYou” “Be My Lady” and “There’s No Easy Way”. In2020, he performed with TFTI as part ofFOUND, an annual inspirational music festival and in the Trumpets' musical JOSEPH THE DREAMER directed by Paolo Valenciano, RJ was cast as Reuben, Joseph's eldest brother, while Sam Concepcion played the lead role ofJoseph. In July 2022 RJ reprised the role of Reuben with Gary Valenciano playing the role of Jacob, Joseph’s father for the first time.

When the pandemic hit in the summer of 2020, RJ took to the Filipino streaming platform Kumu pursuing a brand new audience, quickly becoming a well-loved singer livestreamer favorite in his new"Kumunity". Also, he was then cast alongside former Miss Universe candidate Venus Raj as guidance counselor Steven Mendoza in KAIBIGAN the official inspirational youth TV show on GMA Network.
